Health and environmental advocates often recommend that you eat locally and seasonally. With summer in sight, your local farmers' market can be the easiest way to buy crops that are seasonal, fresh, and produced by local growers.
Typically, you’ll find the farmers and some of their crew at the market, and they will be able to tell you about their products and their operation. Market farmers are rightly proud of what they grow and as a rule are happy to detail both how their food is grown and what to do with it—so if you don't know what to do with rutabagas, ask your local farmer for advice.
