GLOBAL GREEN USA’s PRE-OSCAR PARTY HIGHLIGHTS GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTIONS: GREEN CARS, GREEN BUILDING

Stars Come Out to Raise Funds and Awareness for Global Green
Including Green Rebuilding of New Orleans Initiatives

Los Angeles, CA. (February 22, 2007) – Celebrities, industry executives and environmentalists joined Global Green USA CEO Matt Petersen on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Avalon in Hollywood for the 3rd Annual Global Green Pre-Oscar Party. The event featured an exclusive performance by Maroon 5 who were joined at the event by co-chairs and Oscar Nominees Penelope Cruz and Leonardo DiCaprio and Global Green board member and event co-chair Sebastian Copeland, to raise essential awareness and funds. During a special afternoon preview and at the party, Global Green USA helped bring attention to the importance of green building and clean cars as key solutions to global warming. The event also served as the official kick off for Global Green’s Red Carpet/Green Cars Oscar campaign which provides fuel-efficient vehicles for celebrities attending the Oscars in lieu of gas-guzzling limousines.

Celebrity supporters in attendance included: Oscar nomineeRyan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst, Orlando Bloom, Marcia Gay Harden, Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson, Walton Goggins, Milla Jovovich, Lisa Ray, Michael Mann, Chevy Chase, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Bahar Soomekh, and LA City Councilman Eric Garcetti who hit the symbolic “green carpet” to help the cause.

“I am proud to support Global Green and help them educate the public about climate change” said board member Leonardo DiCaprio. “It’s urgent that we all take steps in our lives to reduce our impact on the environment.”

"Global warming is threatening us all" said Penelope Cruz, co-chair of Global Green's Pre-Oscar party. "Fortunately, there are many simple things we can all do such as driving greener cars or changing to compact fluorescent light bulbs, which can dramatically save energy and reduce global warming pollution."

The two greatest contributors to green house gas emissions and the greatest users of energy are our transportation and our buildings. In California, the single greatest source is our vehicles, which, along with the electricity it takes to power our buildings, represents the greatest source of emissions and energy use in the United States.

“The construction and maintenance of our buildings consume 40% of our world’s energy and resources” said Global Green CEO Matt Petersen. “Green building is a smart solution to global warming.”

Global Green USA is advancing green affordable housing, high performance schools, and green cities across the US including the green rebuilding of New Orleans.

Event sponsors included Starbucks’ The Planet Green Game, 11th Hour, Desert Essence, Global Cool, The Light Group, PG&E, Roland Emmerich, Tesla Motors, Yahoo Autos Green Center, Outside Magazine, Napapijiri, The Weather Channel and Zap Car. The green design lounge was made possible in part by Architectural Digest, Gibson Guitar, Liebherr, Casablanca and Shaklee. The event was made carbon neutral by Native Energy and Global Cool who purchased renewable wind power and other carbon credits.
