our privacy policy

Because we value you as a customer, we will NOT sell or share your personal information. (We don't like junk mail, and we know you don't either!) The only times we share data with anyone are as follows (i) when we donate your carbon offsets to Clean Air – Cool Planet so they can send their acknowledgement of your donation; and (ii) if you signed up with NativeEnergy after clicking through from one of our affinity partners' sites. In this case, we will tell that affinity partner that you've signed up, but only so we can fulfill our partnership agreement and credit them with your sign up. If you didn't arrive from one of our affinity partners' sites, we will not share any data about you with anyone. Period.
 
Our web site is hosted by Orbit Media Studios, our shopping cart is hosted by Propeller Media Works, and we use Chittenden Bank to process purchases, but none of them is permitted to use your personal information for any other purposes or to share it with any other companies. From time to time, we may run some contests or surveys as co-promotions with other companies or organizations; any information you provide to them is voluntary, and we cannot control what they do with the information that they collect.

Communications

We will send you one or two renewal reminders when your one-year offset is complete. If you purchase our services on a month-to-month basis, we may notify you when the projects you’re helping build or support change, although this notice may also be in our newsletter. You may opt-in to receive the NativeEnergy's e-newsletter. If you change your mind later, you can let us know by e-mailing support@nativeenergy.com. If you move or change your email address, you can update your information by e-mailing this same address.

Cookies and Web Logs

We do look at our Web logs, which tell us things like what type of computer and browser our visitors use, track how many people visit the site, see which pages of the site are the most popular and what time of day most people arrive at the site. We also use cookies - a tiny piece of data that allows us to track customers that have come to the site from one of our affinity partners’ sites. Neither our cookies nor our Web logs contain any kind of personal information about you; we use this information only to decide how to make our Web site more interesting and fun and to track visitors for reporting to our affinity partners. Some of the sites we link to may also use cookies, but NativeEnergy has no access to or control over these cookies.
Security

When our sign up form asks you to enter sensitive information like your credit card number, that information is encrypted and protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. There are two easy ways to tell when you're on a secure page:

• The lock icon at the bottom left corner of most web browsers becomes locked (closed), as opposed to its usual unlocked (open) position when you are just "surfing."
• The URL of a secure page automatically changes from the usual "http://" to "https://" - the "s" signifies "secure."

Notification of Changes

If NativeEnergy decides to change this privacy policy, we will highlight any changes on this page so you will always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. If our policy toward personally identifiable information changes, we will notify you by e-mail so you have the opportunity to opt-out if you prefer.
