Raw Shakti Yoga, a Samoan based international Yoga Adventure travel company, is dedicated to environmental action. Our mission statement is to create health and peace on earth one person at a time. To create peace on earth we need to create peace within ourselves, to create health on earth we need to create it within ourselves. To live in harmony with the environment we must each take positive action ourselves. We must act as individuals so that collectively our actions will help reduce and/or eliminate our adverse affects on the environment, global warming being one of the most significant. We believe that our business can be used to fight global warming one person at a time.
Additionally, we are based in the South Pacific Island of Samoa. The nations which are most vulnerable to global warming are situated in this area of the world. In particular, Samoa relies upon its fisheries for sustainable livelihoods and food security. With global warming, the fisheries are being adversely affected and resulting in the loss of food for the local populations.
We at Raw Shakti feel that our Yoga Adventure travel company can be part of the positive change and be a leader in Samoa and the South Pacific in our initiative to have our clients offset their travel when thy visit these far off islands; for this reason we are partnering with NativeEnergy to help finance and build new clean and renewable energy projects that help Native Americans and Alaska Natives create sustainable economic benefits, and that help America's family farmers compete with agribusiness. These projects will displace electricity from fossil fuels and reduce other greenhouse gas emissions, making up for the CO2 emissions that can't be avoided.
